Shadow of the Wind

SHADOW OF THE WIND

by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

ISBN: 978-0143034902

What This Book is About?

I think Zafon, or the translator, Lucia Graves (since i read the translation in english, and the original version is in spanish), perfectly described the book with their own words.

About accursed books, about the man who wrote them, about a character who broke out of the pages of a novel so that he could burn it, about a betrayal and a lost friendship. It’s a story of love, of hatred, and of the dreams that lived in the shadow of the wind.” p. 178

According to Me…

This is the first book by Carlos Ruiz Zafon that i have read. And you know what, a book about books is never failed to have me hooked. From the very start i read that the young Daniel Sempere is taken to “the cemetery of forgotten books“, i knew immediately that i was going to love this book. But it turns out that i wasn’t madly in love as i LOVE the book thief (markus zusak) and the thirteenth tale (diane setterfield),  so i gave it 4 stars instead.

Oh, this is the kind of books that gives you nightmare for weeks after reading it. So go grab Shadow of the Wind at the nearest bookstore if you dare. :p
